This is where I tell you about HeadOverHeelsPhotography, what a great photographer I am and why you simply must choose me to photograph your wedding, yes? Well, actually.......... no. I would rather let the images in my Wedding Portfolio speak for themselves.
To help you decide whether I am the right photographer for you, I would like to tell you more about me as a person, my approach to wedding photography and why I love my job so much.
I am the owner of HeadOverHeels Photography based in Manningtree on the Essex / Suffolk border in beautiful "Constable Country". I believe in going above and beyond for my clients and in giving them a very personal, reliable and professional service from start to finish.
Your wedding photography should be an enjoyable and fun experience on what is a fun filled special day, so I don't take myself too seriously. However, I do take your wedding photography VERY seriously.
But I'm not there just to take photographs. I have many years of experience dealing with people and weddings. I put that experience to good use helping your day run smoothly and helping make sure you and your guests are where you need to be, when you need to be there! Don't get me wrong, I don't "take over", but experience has taught me your guests will appreciate a bit of guidance and I just use what I like to call "polite assertiveness" to get them where they need to be on time.
I am an active member of The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and hold their Licentiatship qualification. I assist at their annual convention by helping with the judging of competiton entries and assisting with the training of other Wedding photographers. I have also successfully completed their Judges' Training Course.
In addition, I am a member of Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), an international organisation based in America and dedicated to continually raising standards in the world of professional wedding and portrait photography.
Being a member of these organisations means I get to spend time with some of the best photographers in the world. People that inspire me and make me want to grow and always improve. You will have noticed there are a lot of us wedding photographer out there, so I continue to invest in my education to be the very best I can be.
I am a proud father to 3 sons and 1 daughter, and grandfather to 7 grand children including 2 sets of twins. (Twins!. That was a surprise!!). My interest in photography began with taking photographs of my children as they grew up and taking the usual holiday snaps. I was just another amateur for many years but slowly my interest became a real passion. So, in May of 2009, after attending several courses on professional wedding photography and working as the "second shooter" at several weddings, I left my previous occupation and became a full time wedding photographer.
I have often been asked, "Why did you choose to be a Wedding Photographer?"
Now I know it is a phrase that gets too much use but the simple truth is, because I love it. To me, it is a pure delight to be present on such a wonderful occasion. I do work hard, but it's so much fun that "work" seems to be the wrong word.
In my previous job, I experienced rather too much of the unpleasant side of human nature, but now I get to spend time with some wonderful couples and their friends and families on one of the happiest days of their lives! Could any job be better!! Added to that is the terrific thrill I get from seeing the looks on their faces the first time they come to view their wedding album and relive their day.
You may think that, as I'm running a business, all I really care about is the money. I admit that I do have to earn a living but to me, the most valuable thing is capturing memories. Those once in a lifetime moments that tell a story. Your story.
Images that others can look at in years to come, not just our generation but future generations as well. I put my heart and soul into creating images that "take you there", to that very moment when they were captured. Images that not only show how you looked, but how you FELT at that moment. Images that will make others want to laugh and smile, perhaps even bring a tear to their eye. Knowing that I have made something that will provoke those emotions in others, even after I am no longer here, that is more important than money and that's why I choose to be a Wedding Photographer.
I like to spend time getting to know you so that I can reflect your personalities in your photographs and will give you my undivided attention before, during and after your wedding to ensure I know what you want from me both on your big day and afterwards.
To ensure I am able to give you all the time your deserve, I only photograph an average of one wedding per week. After you have added together the time spent on consultations, venue visits, the rehearsal, the big day itself, post production of the images and designing the wedding album, an all day wedding involves about 50 to 60 hours work. If I were to accept more bookings, something would have to give. I would end up having to "cut corners" or turn up at your wedding feeling tired and not able to give you the quality of service you deserve. I really do love photographing weddings and, if I were to undertake too many, I fear that love for what I do may fade a little. I could possibly earn more by undertaking more bookings but, as I have already said, to me it isn't all about money. I get really excited before the day, look forward to and enjoy the weddings I photograph. When I arrive I feel full of energy and enthuiasism for the possibilities the day holds, and I want it to stay that way.
Your Wedding is the most special of days and I would feel priviliged to be a small part of it. Photographing a wedding can be quite stressful though. You have to get it right first time as there are no second chances and the pressure is on me to deliver. But I appreciate the trust my clients are placing in me and I get enormous pleasure from producing stylish and creative images which capture the fun, excitement, laughter and tears of joy that make such special memories.
A lot of my clients have been pleasantly surprised with the natural photos I have captured for them, remarking that they did not even notice I was there capturing those fleeting moments in time. That's because I work as unobtrusively as possible.
What I will not do is try to take over your day. What I will do is take great photographs without spoiling the enjoyment of your day. When it comes to those extra special protraits of you both, my goal will be to create an atmosphere where you can relax, have fun and just be yourselves enjoying each other's company. Together we can create an album telling the story of your Special Day that you will treasure forever.
All your photos can be made available to view and order from the comfort of your own home through a personal secure password-protected online gallery. For those of your guests who wish to have a copy of some of your photographs, they can download a copy of their own for free!!
I also offer an extensive range of great value, quality prints and products, including canvasses, acrylics, fine art prints, coffee table books and bespoke albums from Queensberry in a wide variety of sizes and finishes for you to choose from.
For your protection I have both public liability and professional endemnity insurance.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my love of Wedding photography. If you think I am the right photographer for your big day, please
I would love to hear from you.
